General Production

About the role

General Production positions assemble rapid deployment equipment, mobile tactical shelters, air mobile containers, and palletized systems to support the military’s ability to mobilize, deploy, maneuver, and sustain forces.

Responsibilities

• Use air grinders, sanders, hammers, and various other assorted hand tools.
• Grind and sand parts to remove burrs and smooth rough spots.
• Use steam cleaners and/or power washing equipment as needed.
• Complete paperwork such as logs and part ticket numbers with information related to parts (quantities, descriptions, part numbers, destination, etc.).
• Perform painting and gluing operations that do not require a respirator (e.g., touch-up, roll coat).
• Perform various assembly jobs based on verbal and written instructions.
• Perform operations that may require heavy lifting.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safety standards while being quality conscious.
• Maintain good attendance, demonstrate self-motivation, and a willingness to learn.
• Comply with all requirements of waste handling training and procedures.
• Comply with all requirements of the Job Safety Analysis for this position.
• Comply with all requirements related to the care and maintenance of required PPE.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience or familiarity with hand tools and assembly techniques.
• Ability to keep accurate records as required.
• Ability to perform lifting operations, including jobs that may involve heavy lifting.
• Safety-conscious, quality-oriented, dependable, and self-motivated.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Schedule

Full-time, non-exempt (eligible for overtime).

Primary location: United States-Michigan-Cadillac. Union position.
