General Oncologist
About the role
The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in an established medical oncology practice affiliated with Maine Medical Center, an integral part of the MaineHealth Cancer Care Network. Participation in system-wide multidisciplinary subspecialty tumor boards is encouraged, and a 1 day/week subspecialty clinic at the primary MaineHealth Cancer Center campus in Scarborough/Portland is available for candidates with subspecialty interest.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with a range of hematologic and oncologic conditions
- Work closely with colleagues in an established medical oncology practice affiliated with Maine Medical Center
- Participate in system-wide multidisciplinary subspecialty tumor boards
- Offer a 1 day/week subspecialty clinic at the primary MaineHealth Cancer Center campus in Scarborough/Portland for candidates with subspecialty interest
Requirements
Prior experience in oncology within an academic health system or academically oriented private practice is preferred, although strong candidates in the early stages of their careers will be considered.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- Board certification in Medical Oncology
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Interest in and ability to participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards
