General Merchandise Clerk

About the role

We are searching for a new member of the Meijer family. This position is an entry-level General Merchandise Clerk role applicable to various departments including Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal and Floral.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with customers.
• Show a friendly and outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
• Help customers with any questions they may have. If unable to answer, direct them to another team member.
• Stock product and maintain displays according to merchandising standards.
• Utilize technology to complete activities and tasks.

Requirements

• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Strong listening and communications skills, both face-to-face and virtually.
• Willingness to learn or existing familiarity with job-specific technology.
• Problem-solving competence and eagerness to troubleshoot when necessary.
• Process-driven and able to follow procedures in an organized and efficient way.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and twist while handling product.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Desire to work with customers on a consistent basis.
