General Mechanic - Journey-Level ($5000 signing bonus)

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on hot/cold rolling mills, finishing equipment, and related machinery.
• Maintain and repair plant facilities and systems.
• Understand hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of power transmission components.
• Welding and oxy/acetylene equipment operation.
• Operate mobile equipment such as fork truck, flat beds, cranes, etc.
• Adjust, repair, lubricate and maintain plant equipment.
• Limited computer skills to order parts and input time, etc.
• Pipefitting.
• Read, understand, and use blueprints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Candidate must meet journey-level qualifications and possess a minimum of 3 years of solid industrial maintenance experience as a Millwright, Pipefitter, or Welder (or have equivalent experience of 5 years of verifiable work as a general Mechanic).
• Pass journey-level testing requirements.

Schedule

This position works 12-hour shifts, 6 am to 6 pm or 6 pm to 6 am. Shifts are assigned by Seniority.
