About the Role

Madison Reed’s Hair Color Bar Managers are entrepreneurial leaders who deliver exceptional business results while inspiring their team of Shift Leads, Client Support Specialists, Colorists, and Assistant Colorists. The Manager establishes the roadmap for success within Madison Reed's operational best practices, fosters diverse perspectives, drives business growth through community relationships, and promotes Madison Reed’s products, services, and values. This full-time role reports to the District Manager and requires availability on weekends, holidays, and peak times.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and develop leadership skills to provide a top-tier employee and guest experience aligned with Madison Reed’s values: Love, Joy, Trust, Courage, and Responsibility.
  • Lead by example in sales and service behaviors, including resolving guest service issues.
  • Ensure the Hair Color Bar is fully staffed and resourced, including front-of-house operations, adherence to standard operating procedures, assisting guests with retail orders, and managing bookings, services, and memberships.
  • Master all services provided at the Hair Color Bar, including working behind the chair as needed.
  • Provide district support as needed, including training new Managers, remote support, or on-site assistance at nearby locations.
  • Achieve monthly sales goals and key performance indicators, such as retail sales, services, and memberships.
  • Maintain company standards for cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and asset security.
  • Demonstrate mastery of Madison Reed systems, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Coach and develop team members to align individual talents with responsibilities, ensuring high team culture, guest satisfaction, and performance.
  • Own recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, performance management, coaching, talent development, and training for all team members.
  • Manage employee schedules based on forecasts, business needs, and compliance with local labor laws, budgets, and break requirements.

Qualifications

  • Active cosmetology license in the state of application.
  • 2+ years of salon and retail experience.
  • 2+ years of operational management experience.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Strong technical proficiency as a colorist.
  • Proven track record of exceeding key operational and performance metrics.
  • Fluency in English.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, team members will regularly:

  • Stand and walk for four or more consecutive hours.
  • Engage in repetitive bending and twisting at the waist.
  • Manipulate fingers and hands, bend and reach wrists and arms, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Lift, push, or pull up to ten pounds.
  • Occasionally sit, kneel, stoop, crouch, or perform similar movements.
  • Communicate regularly with guests via ongoing conversations and consultations.

Pay

The base salary for this role ranges from $55,000 to $65,000, with opportunities to earn monthly bonuses. Factors affecting starting pay include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
