General Manager I - Distribution

DHL Supply Chain is seeking an Implementation General Manager to lead new start-up operations within our Technology sector. This role provides strategic and operational leadership throughout the implementation and launch of new business opportunities, ensuring successful execution from initial start-up through transition into a fully operational environment.

About the Role

This position requires a highly adaptable leader who can manage complex implementations, influence cross-functional teams, collaborate directly with customers, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ability and willingness to travel approximately 80% is required. The role can be filled in Fort Worth, TX; Las Vegas, NV; Phoenix, AZ; or Columbus, OH, and may be classified as General Manager I, II, or III depending on candidate experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods efficiently and accurately.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse processes, minimize costs, and maximize productivity.
• Lead and motivate a team of Operations Managers and staff, providing coaching, guidance, and support while fostering a strong team culture.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), automation, and other technology to track inventory, monitor performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective services and supplies while adhering to the commercial agreement.
• Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead customer relationships through close daily contact to ensure strong connections and satisfaction.
• Oversee the site's profit and loss (P&L), directly influenced by customer relationships.
• Prepare and present Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews (MBR/QBR) to customers, leveraging strong team collaboration.

Requirements

• General Manager experience or Senior Operations Manager experience with full P&L ownership.
• Proven full P&L management experience with demonstrated financial accountability.
• Experience building and developing strong site culture and high-performing teams.
• Experience working with Tier 1 WMS solutions (Blue Yonder, Manhattan, or comparable enterprise systems).
• Direct customer-facing experience, including managing relationships and expectations.
• Ability to travel approximately 80%.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of managerial/supervisory experience.
• 2+ years of experience in supply chain, warehousing, or distribution.
• Experience in Third Party Logistics (3PL) and/or Contract Logistics (preferred).
• Staff management experience.
• P&L management experience (preferred).
• Project management experience (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferred).
• Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading start-up operations and new facility implementations.
• Experience supporting large-scale customer implementations.
• Strong background in continuous improvement and operational excellence methodologies.

Pay

General Manager I: $120,000 – $155,000 (national salary range).
