About the role

The General Manager leads all aspects of a Spark Car Wash location, fostering an energizing experience for both customers and employees. With an ownership mindset, this leader drives sales performance, develops high-performing teams, ensures operational excellence, and maintains consistent execution of Spark standards. The role involves inspiring a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and a customer-first approach while preparing the business for sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team that embodies "the Spark Way" through recruiting top talent, providing ongoing coaching, and fostering an inclusive, accountable, and high-energy culture.
  • Operate the location with a business-owner mindset by setting clear performance expectations, analyzing business trends, monitoring key performance indicators, and executing action plans to improve site performance.
  • Drive sales leadership and revenue growth by cultivating a sales-driven culture focused on membership growth, customer retention, and maximizing revenue opportunities.
  • Lead operational excellence by ensuring adherence to Spark’s safety, quality, cleanliness, and equipment readiness standards while identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Champion a customer-first culture by delivering a fast, friendly, and energizing experience, actively seeking feedback, and resolving concerns professionally.
  • Maintain responsibility for the safe operation, inspection, preventative maintenance, and basic repair of all site equipment, including back-room systems, vacuum equipment, and tunnel machinery.
  • Engage with the local community to strengthen the Spark brand, increase awareness, and create opportunities for business growth.
  • Foster a culture of safety and compliance by ensuring adherence to company policies, operational procedures, and safety standards, while training and holding team members accountable.
  • Oversee cash management processes, including transaction accuracy, deposit preparation, cash audits, and compliance with financial controls.
  • Collaborate effectively with District Managers and Corporate support teams to execute company initiatives and communicate business needs.
  • Lead with optimism and composure during periods of growth, change, or operational challenges, managing conflict and helping the team embrace new initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a customer-facing, retail, service, hospitality, or operations environment.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and delegation skills to lead teams in achieving business metrics and service standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to employees and customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening and the ability to motivate associates.
  • Basic math skills for cash counting, transaction review, and end-of-day accounting.
  • Experience with cash handling, deposit preparation, cash audits, and related financial controls.
  • Comfortable performing physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and handling tools or materials.
  • Capable of lifting, moving, or carrying up to 40 lbs. as needed.
  • Able to see details at close range, including transaction information, equipment, tools, and site conditions.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation for commuting to the assigned store location, meetings, training sessions, and other required functions.
