About the Role

The General Manager will contribute to Smoothie King’s success by creating and leading a highly productive environment focusing on building a motivated team, ensuring an extraordinary guest experience, and balancing other priorities with strategic, operational, and leadership excellence. As the role evolves, the successful candidate will demonstrate curiosity in the business, a willingness to take on new challenges, and a commitment to developing additional skills to support the team’s purpose.

Responsibilities

  • Enthusiastically hire, develop, and lead the store team to provide a great guest experience and fulfill the mission of inspiring people to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
  • Use operational tools such as Profit and Loss Statements, Daily Business Reviews, Cash & Deposit Logs, and Data Central scheduling and inventory management tools to achieve operational excellence.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers (inventory management, shipments, etc.).
  • Review store environment and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement and adjust accordingly.
  • Manage cash activities for the store (e.g., daily deposits).
  • Ensure compliance with food safety guidelines at all times; ensure all team members are in compliance as well.
  • Own and promote brand standards in alignment with the company vision.
  • Ensure store appearance and cleanliness are upheld and consistent with Smoothie King brand standards.
  • Drive implementation of company programs through action planning and inspire the team to meet operational standards.
  • Develop local store marketing plans to support brand initiatives, including community outreach through marketing and special events.
  • Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments using existing tools and programs, as well as creative and effective methods of recognition.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality management, or a similar field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a manager or supervisor of a team in a restaurant or similar retail customer service business.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills—energized by working with people.
  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promotes the company’s culture, values, and mission.
  • Maintain a "customer-first" attitude and connect with customers to discover and respond to their needs.
  • A bias toward action—willing to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
  • Ability to work the hours needed to run the store effectively, which may include a variety of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
