About the role
The General Manager is an executive who has overall responsibility for managing both the revenue and cost elements (profit & loss) responsibility of the site. They oversee the day-to-day operations of the business and is responsible for effective planning, delegating, coordinating, staffing, organizing, and decision making to attain desirable profit-making results.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business
- Develop key performance goals for direct reports
- Engage in key or targeted customer activities
- Evaluate and decide upon key investments in equipment, infrastructure and talent
- Communicate strategy and results to the site employees
- Represent Saft in the local community
Requirements
- Master's degree in business administration, management, finance, or another relevant discipline
- 15+ years of progressive experience in all functions of a manufacturing facility
- Knowledge of standard cost accounting and budgetary control
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Very experienced in automation and lean manufacturing; preferably battery experience and/or automotive experience
- Responsible for the P&L to achieve committed profitability
- Manage capital expenses in development projects and equipment purchases
- Analyze reported, and budget financial data in order to evaluate performance of operations, provide protection against business risks, and support business strategies
- Optimize cash flow through control of working capital and capital expenditures
- Review analyses of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine facility and division progress toward stated goals and objectives
- Collaborate closely with sales management team to ensure best practices with regards to prospective development, pricing, margins, closing new business and competitive information
- Ensure facility maintenance, safety, and environmental compliance
- Drive and engage in safety culture to ensure employees work in a safe environment according to OSHA, TotalEnergies, and Saft standards
- Administrate personnel except in relation to product line sales and marketing decisions
- Promote and maintain a high quality, professional and service-oriented culture
- Represent Saft in community affairs, including local government and business groups
- Ensure compliance to all employment requirements; create opportunity for career growth of employees
Qualifications
