About the role

The General Manager is accountable for setting strategic direction to deliver the highest quality product while maximizing company profit in line with Leader Emergency Vehicles’ mission and vision. This role requires expert knowledge and application of lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement in meeting company goals and objectives, as well as active, hands-on engagement in all aspects of the order-to-cash process.

Responsibilities

  • Assume leadership and expertise of lean manufacturing principles; implement and sustain lean within areas of responsibility.
  • Serve as a change agent and ambassador for continuous improvement; teach and train employees at all levels on lean concepts.
  • Proactively lead the engagement of all personnel in implementing lean principles and tools.
  • Directly lead and supervise the local business unit team across various functions while coaching and mentoring employees on project execution.
  • Lead the business unit in company goal setting, talent deployment/development, and strategic planning.
  • Drive achievement of company financial targets, including net sales, EBITDA, and Net Working Capital.
  • Set strategic direction for the plant/facility in accordance with business goals and objectives.
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of operations, budgets, financial reports, and industry trends through P&L ownership.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of mid- and long-term planning, new programs/strategies, and regulatory activities.
  • Lead and actively participate in product development/improvement activities to ensure innovation and competitiveness.
  • Influence the sale of company products and services using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures to improve overall operation, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Oversee execution of the order-to-cash process, including sales management, distributor relationships, order intake, and invoicing.
  • Responsible for production scheduling, balancing customer requirements, throughput, and weekly product mix.
  • Ensure safety and environmental compliance of the facility; hold employees accountable for OSHA and company policies.
  • Actively lead safety improvement activities and maintain involvement with facilities and equipment to leverage latest technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or similar; Master’s preferred.
  • Experienced leader and business executive with industry experience, preferably in the specialty vehicle industry.
  • Bi-lingual in English and intermediate Spanish required.
  • Energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and a professional image.
  • Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus.
  • Intelligent and articulate, able to relate to people at all levels of the organization; excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Establishes credibility as an effective problem solver, approachable, and a mentor within the organization.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Computer proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other organizational software.
  • Effectively cope and lead through change and ambiguity; resolve conflicts and find common ground for cooperation.
  • Consistently exceed goals; bottom-line oriented with a focus on driving results for self and others.

Pay

The pay scale for this position in California is between $125,000 and $200,000, based on meeting all role requirements. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Terex offers competitive benefits in addition to competitive pay, with a pay-for-performance philosophy allowing top performers to earn more based on continued success.
