General Manager

About the role

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for leading the associate managers and hourly partners of their assigned restaurant. This position oversees the management of the restaurant operations for Newks, ensuring achievement of planned sales and budgeted profit levels.

Responsibilities

• Treat all people with courtesy and respect.
• Create a culture of empowerment and fun, focusing on guest care and profitability.
• Implement, manage, and uphold all Newk’s policies, procedures, programs, and operational excellence performance standards.
• Provide direction and motivation to the associate management team and hourly partners to ensure effective execution of all restaurant positions.
• Delegate and complete responsibilities for all positions to provide exceptional Newk’s Experience and product quality to guests.
• Maintain a sanitary, safe, respectful, efficient, and high-quality work environment while effectively managing operational/product costs.

Requirements

• At least two years prior restaurant GM experience preferred.
• Extensive assistant management experience may suffice.
• Must have high level of mobility/flexibility and be able to work irregular hours under heavy pressure/stress during busy times.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods without breaks.
• Must be able to reach heights of approximately six feet and depths of approximately three feet.
• Must be able to carry trays of food products weighing approximately 20 lbs for distances of up to 60 ft.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Excellent communications, supervisory, and guest service skills.
• Computer literacy; comfortable with Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word).
• Operating FOH P.O.S. System (Aloha).
• Operating BOH systems (Aloha).

Skills

• Reliable, independent thinker and good decision-maker.
• Trained in Newk’s training systems and culture.
