General Manager

MV Transportation is seeking a General Manager to provide support, leadership, and direction to an assigned operating location to ensure delivery of annual business plans.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage customer relations through both direct contact and outreach programs.
• Identify, select, train, and mentor location staff.
• Communicate frequently with location staff and support team members.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance plan and ensure fleet availability to meet service requirements.
• Oversee safety and training programs, plans, and processes to ensure compliance with company, contract, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain routine client contact to meet or exceed expectations.
• Conduct periodic departmental audits.
• Review key operational metrics daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Ensure all location financial metrics are managed continuously; report exceptions and develop action plans to meet financial, safety, and operational expectations.
• Implement, promote, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Participate in location labor and employee relations activities.
• Provide insight and information to support location contract renewals.
• Create and present the location’s annual budget.
• Perform additional duties/responsibilities based on individual contract requirements.

Requirements

• College degree or equivalent business management experience.
• Minimum of five years of comprehensive experience in operations management.
• Seven years of management or supervisory experience in a transit environment with knowledge of Trapeze scheduling software.
• Labor/union negotiations and expenses expertise.
• Full understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and safety DOT and FTA compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Office, strong analytical skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High degree of multitasking ability.

Pay

Starting salary range: $110,000 – $130,000.
