General Manager

About the Role

As the General Manager for Liberty Packaging in Omaha, you will lead and manage the Omaha location while collaborating across the business to provide vision, leadership, and day-to-day management. This role is responsible for setting commercial and operational strategies, aligning business objectives with customer requirements, and driving product and process excellence to achieve profitable growth. You will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Packaging and be based at the Liberty Packaging facility in Omaha, Nebraska.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior leader for Liberty Packaging Omaha, providing leadership to teams including Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Pricing, Design, EHS, Human Resources, and Finance in partnership with functional leaders.
• Plan, develop, organize, and execute the Liberty Packaging Omaha profitable growth strategy to deliver company financial growth objectives.
• Oversee overall P&L results, identifying and executing growth, improvement, and cost-saving opportunities while collaborating with functional leaders.
• Manage resources to balance strategic objectives with financial return and efficient use of assets.
• Ensure manufacturing schedule attainment meets customer service expectations, cost, and quality considerations.
• Lead the sales team to secure new opportunities that fulfill the commercial profitable growth strategy.
• Partner with the Enterprise Solutions EHS function to develop and implement safety policies and programs, promoting a culture of safety and improving safety performance.
• Maintain customer and business relationships; participate in key customer and supplier visits and calls.
• Manage employee performance by establishing clear goals, tracking progress, providing timely feedback, and addressing performance challenges.
• Represent Liberty Packaging in the community in accordance with core values: Caring, Innovation, Trust, and Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in management, operations, or a related field.
• 10+ years of senior leadership experience in general management, plant management, or senior-level functional experience (e.g., sales, marketing, distribution, finance) within a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience building and executing commercial growth strategies.
• Experience developing capital strategies to improve operational effectiveness, customer fulfillment, and cost improvements.
• Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to drive change.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization.
• Strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to build lasting customer relationships.
• High personal standards with a proven track record of integrity, business ethics, and professionalism.
• Action-oriented with initiative to achieve results.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Corrugated packaging experience or closely related industry experience strongly preferred.
• Significant operational and continuous improvement experience.
• Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions.

Pay

The starting base salary range for this position is $192,576 - $240,720 per year, plus eligibility in an annual bonus program. Compensation may vary based on factors such as education, certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Additional compensation may include bonuses or deferred compensation options.
