General Manager
About the Role
Culligan is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee business operations at store branches, with full operational responsibility for all profit and loss activities. The role involves leading and managing daily operations to achieve business goals, maximize profitability, and ensure regulatory and company standards are upheld.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all staff members to deliver exemplary customer service and measure job performance to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to and enforce all company safety guidelines; handle timely and accurate filing of paperwork for insurance reporting (general liability, fleet accidents, worker compensation claims).
- Protect and manage branch assets effectively.
- Foster a team culture by recognizing and motivating branch personnel.
- Prepare accurate business forecasts and budgets.
- Oversee branch payables, inventory, and receivables.
- Personally respond to difficult customer inquiries or unusual situations.
- Manage the efficient routing of deliveries and service calls.
- Execute programs to meet or exceed sales plans.
- Maintain awareness of local competition and use market trends to inform strategic decisions and improve competitive positioning.
- Participate in the recruitment process, from interviewing to selecting candidates, and ensure smooth onboarding for new hires.
- Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities to enhance team skills.
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance, providing regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities.
- May perform job duties of other branch staff as needed and assist with field training.
- Optimize branch efficiency by consolidating or automating job duties wherever possible.
Requirements
- Four-year degree in Sales, Marketing, Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Direct responsibility for P&L performance, including revenue, costs, and margins.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
- 5 years of experience in Basic Plumbing, Operations, Management, and Marketing is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work with all levels of management.
- Strong sales generation ability and financial performance.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities; strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Pay
Target salary range: $85,000 - $130,000 per year, with the opportunity for eligible employees to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
