General Manager

TITLE: General Manager SALARY/WAGE RANGE: $150,000 - $180,000 / Year Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham, is seeking a dynamic, results-driven General Manager to lead our hospitality operations and oversee all aspects of the hotel’s daily operations. This role requires a strong leader with experience managing a branded hotel, including guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, sales, revenue management, and an on-site restaurant, while ensuring exceptional guest experiences and achieving operational and financial goals. The General Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining brand standards, developing a strong operating team, maximizing revenue, controlling expenses, and achieving established financial and operational goals. The successful candidate will demonstrate proven leadership in a branded hotel environment, strong financial and business acumen, and the ability to manage hotel and restaurant operations effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of brand standards, quality assurance requirements, operating procedures, and guest satisfaction expectations, along with experience leading department managers and developing a service-oriented team. Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions Hotel Operations: Direct daily hotel operations to ensure service excellence, operational efficiency, and compliance with brand standards. Financial Performance: Manage budgets, forecasts, operating expenses, and profitability while identifying opportunities to increase revenue and control costs. Restaurant Operations: Oversee restaurant performance, including service quality, food and beverage costs, labor management, sanitation, and profitability. Guest Satisfaction: Monitor guest feedback, address escalated concerns, and implement improvements to enhance the guest experience and online reputation. Brand Compliance: Maintain brand operating standards, quality assurance requirements, and inspection readiness. Team Leadership: Recruit, train, coach, and hold department managers accountable for performance and established goals Sales and Revenue: Collaborate with sales and revenue management teams to improve occupancy, room rates, restaurant revenue, and overall business performance. Property Maintenance: Oversee preventive maintenance, property condition, safety, security, and capital improvement needs. Reporting and Accountability: Provide regular financial and operational updates to ownership and ensure action items are completed within established timelines. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable federal, State of Hawaii, and local requirements. Qualifications Demonstrated success managing hotel operations in accordance with established brand standards and quality assurance requirements.Experience overseeing an on-site restaurant or hotel food and beverage operation.Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, profit-and-loss analysis, forecasting, and expense control.Proven ability to improve operational performance, guest satisfaction, and profitability.Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop teams, establish accountability, and address performance issues effectively.Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and respond to operational needs as required. Education High school diploma or the equivalent is required. Special Job Dimensions Travel time: 1 – 4 times per year to the Honolulu Corporate Office.
