General Manager
About the Role
The Barnhart General Manager is a significant leadership position. As a company leader, you will be treated as a business owner, responsible for leading branch teams in sales, execution, and financial results. You will collaborate with other branches in executing work in the region and the national footprint while aligning with Barnhart’s Mission Statement and Core Values. Barnhart embraces Servant Leadership as the model for fostering a "One Team" culture.
The General Manager role combines the following elements:
- 50%+ market share
- Multiple successful operating units (Branch(es), Satellite(s), AOE’s)
- Multiple service offerings (Heavy Lift, Machinery Moving, Crane Service, Project, Heavy Transport)
- Engineering servicing the region
- Developing talent from Branches, Satellites, and AOE’s
- Mature, functioning Branch Leadership Teams
Responsibilities
- Lead branches like a business owner, ensuring excellence in Sales, Operations, Project Management, Dispatch, Maintenance, and Facilities.
- Build local cultures of Significance, Belonging, Trust, Progress, and Recognition through training and developing your teams.
- Develop and mentor talent across branches, satellites, and AOE’s.
- Deliver solid financial results and manage project execution in construction and/or industrial industries.
- Utilize computer software and management reporting to communicate metrics, processes, and enhancements.
- Drive continuous improvement toward excellent branch/operating unit health.
Requirements
- Experience leading and developing teams while fostering a strong culture aligned with a company’s Mission Statement and Core Values, with a track record of Servant Leadership.
- Mechanically inclined with proven success in rigging, lifting, fabrication, maintenance, or transportation execution.
- Consistent history of delivering strong financial results.
- Project management experience in construction and/or industrial industries.
- Proficiency in computer software and management reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree or sufficient relevant experience.
