General Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our HVAC company. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of the business, including sales, operations, service, financial performance, and team leadership, ensuring high-quality HVAC services, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Strategy: Lead and manage overall operations, including sales, service, and installation teams. Develop and implement strategies for business growth, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with the executive team to set short and long-term goals aligned with company vision.
• Operations Management: Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth functioning of all departments, including HVAC installations, service calls, and maintenance contracts. Optimize workflows, manage scheduling, dispatching, and resource allocation to meet customer demands.
• Financial Oversight: Prepare and manage annual budgets, analyze financial reports, and implement cost-saving initiatives. Manage pricing strategies, cost control, and purchasing decisions to improve profit margins.
• Sales & Business Development: Drive business development initiatives to grow market share and expand customer base (residential and commercial). Develop competitive bids, close new business, and maintain strong client relationships. Identify cross-sell/upsell opportunities.
• Customer Satisfaction: Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring outstanding service and support. Address complaints professionally and implement feedback mechanisms to improve service delivery.
• Team Development & Management: Recruit, train, and develop HVAC technicians, sales staff, and office personnel. Foster a positive work environment, conduct performance reviews, and provide coaching to drive engagement and accountability.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including HVAC licensing, permits, and safety standards. Oversee safety programs and stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a General Manager within the HVAC industry or a similar field.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, equipment, and services.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Experience managing financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility.
• Sales and business development expertise with the ability to grow customer relationships and revenue streams.
• Knowledge of modern business operations, including CRM (Service Titan is a plus).
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
