About the Role

At Einstein Bros. Bagels we’ve been baking bagels fresh daily since 1995 and believe our bakeries do more than just make the best breakfast in the neighborhood. We are looking for a General Manager to oversee all aspects of the store with a “treat it like you own it” philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Start as early as 4 am to perform the first bake and open the store.
• Ensure the store is audit ready and execute catering, mobile, and in‑store orders.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience during breakfast and lunch rushes.
• Float into all positions as needed, manage team breaks, and drive strong customer survey results.
• Close the store at 2 pm (typically 30‑45 minutes) and prep for the next day, including scheduling, ordering, inventory, and the daily bank deposit.
• Participate in 5 weeks of training to prepare for all store management duties.

Requirements

• 1‑3 years of prior General Manager or Assistant General Manager experience in a restaurant setting.
• Hands‑on operator able to motivate and inspire the team to “fun‑ness.”
• Prior exposure to P&L analysis is valuable; proven strategies for achieving food‑cost goals and labor targets are required.
• Recruit quality team members and develop internal talent.
• Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
• Physical demands include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during work hours (with or without reasonable accommodation).

Pay

Competitive salary range: $68,000‑$73,000 per year, with an attainable quarterly bonus (over 60% of GMs received a bonus last year). Hourly rate: $19.50‑$34.13 per hour; starting pay is subject to local and state minimum‑wage regulations.

Schedule

Operating hours are 6 am‑2 pm – no nights or evenings. Stores close at 2 pm, allowing for work‑life balance. The day begins as early as 4 am for the first bake; closing and next‑day prep take 30‑45 minutes. Administrative tasks (scheduling, ordering, inventory, bank deposit) are typically handled before the team arrives or after they leave, leaving evenings free.
