General Maintenance/Utility
About the role
The Massachusetts Port Authority is seeking a General Maintenance/Utility (Bargaining Unit, Local Union No. 3) to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy equipment to keep our maritime properties clean and functional.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain light and heavy equipment to clean and maintain Maritime properties, including snow and debris removal.
- Perform landscaping tasks such as cutting grass, pruning shrubs, and maintaining outdoor areas to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Conduct minor building repairs, plumbing maintenance, and inspections of pumps, drains, and sewer systems to keep facilities functional.
- Inspect and maintain parking meters and signage, collect revenue, and complete logs and reports as required.
Requirements
- 1-3 years’ experience driving heavy equipment.
- Current and valid CDL Class B.
- Current and valid Massachusetts Hoisting License 1C/2B.
Qualifications
As a General Maintenance/Utility (Bargaining Unit, Local Union No. 3), you must have a strong mechanical background and the ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment safely and efficiently. You should also have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
