General Maintenance Technician

Department: System Support Building

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with additional hours as needed. This position is authorized for 80 hours bi-weekly.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair a variety of building and facilities systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic tube systems, hospital beds, and nurse call systems.
• Complete assigned preventive maintenance tasks and coordinate specific craft activities with other Facilities Management team members.
• Determine root causes of operating errors and repair facilities equipment or systems using necessary tools.
• Provide legible, detailed, and accurate information on work orders and preventive maintenance forms.
• Complete maintenance tasks, facility preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
• Maintain facility areas, including patient rooms and common areas.
• Maintain records, update CMMS documentation, required maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, and PM logs.
• Report to supervisor daily on conditions related to general operations, safety, and day-to-day activities in the facility.
• Attend daily huddles with the team during the shift.
• Coordinate repairs and work in departments, reporting status to involved parties.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience in building or facilities maintenance (preferred).
• General maintenance repair experience, familiarity with safety procedures, and training in the safe operation of building maintenance equipment and handling of related chemicals (e.g., solvents, degreasers).
