Key Responsibilities
- Aesthetic Maintenance and Repairs
- Perform tasks to enhance the overall appearance and functionality of the facility.
- Painting and patching walls, doors, and other surfaces.
- Replacing damaged or missing ceiling tiles.
- Replacing damaged or missing floor tiles.
- Repairing leaky sinks, faucets, and minor plumbing issues.
- Replacing light bulbs, fixtures, and ensuring proper illumination.
- General Maintenance Activities
- Handle a variety of on-the-spot repairs and improvements to maintain a polished facility environment.
- Contribute to the facility’s visual appeal and operational smoothness through minor carpentry, basic electrical, and other tasks.
Qualifications And Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance, facilities management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in general building maintenance, preferably in a pharmaceutical, laboratory, or industrial environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with basic hand and power tools for painting, patching, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset. Excellent communication skills for documenting work and collaborating with team members.
- Physical/Special Requirements: Regularly lift to 50 lbs, regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding, repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement, walk extensively throughout the facility during shift, wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Preferred Requirements
- Technical degree preferred.
- Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated environment such as hospitals, biomedical or pharmaceutical campuses.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); EAMS experience is a plus.
- Experience interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
