General Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Aesthetic Maintenance and Repairs
  • Perform tasks to enhance the overall appearance and functionality of the facility.
  • Painting and patching walls, doors, and other surfaces.
  • Replacing damaged or missing ceiling tiles.
  • Replacing damaged or missing floor tiles.
  • Repairing leaky sinks, faucets, and minor plumbing issues.
  • Replacing light bulbs, fixtures, and ensuring proper illumination.
  • General Maintenance Activities
  • Handle a variety of on-the-spot repairs and improvements to maintain a polished facility environment.
  • Contribute to the facility’s visual appeal and operational smoothness through minor carpentry, basic electrical, and other tasks.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance, facilities management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in general building maintenance, preferably in a pharmaceutical, laboratory, or industrial environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with basic hand and power tools for painting, patching, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset. Excellent communication skills for documenting work and collaborating with team members.
  • Physical/Special Requirements: Regularly lift to 50 lbs, regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding, repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement, walk extensively throughout the facility during shift, wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

Preferred Requirements

  • Technical degree preferred.
  • Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated environment such as hospitals, biomedical or pharmaceutical campuses.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); EAMS experience is a plus.
  • Experience interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation Details

28.00-32.00
