General Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs requiring conveyor, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC and other equipment, systems or structures
• Ensure repairs and maintenance to all equipment and facilities
• Respond to spills and other emergency situations, performing janitorial and maintenance tasks as necessary
• Aid in client, site or customer emergencies as needed
• Perform basic landscaping duties (tree trimming, weeding, and watering plants)
• Order and maintain cleaning supplies and maintenance equipment
• Clean, adjust, and repair systems, and perform warranty services
• Replace light fittings and broken globes
• Aid skilled maintenance, landscaping, and custodial staff
• Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
• Provide technical direction and on-the-job training
• Keep daily logs and records of all maintenance functions
• Ensure compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Comply with service standards, work instructions, and customers' requirements
• Absorb customers' queries
• Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Some previous refrigeration/HVAC trade or vocational certification required
• 1+ year experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field
