General Maintenance Mid-Level Engineer | Full-time $21/hr

The Driskill Hotel, steeped in historic traditions, originally opened its doors in 1886 by cattle baron Jesse Driskill. Today, the hotel remains one of Austin’s most notable landmarks.

About the role

The Mid-Level General Maintenance Engineer will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas. Guest room and public area entry-level preventative maintenance are included. The Mid-Level Engineer will also perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and front-of-house areas
• Entry-level preventative maintenance for guest rooms and public areas
• Repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment
• Troubleshooting electricity, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems

Requirements

• 2-3 years of maintenance experience required
• Strong troubleshooting skills in electricity, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical repairs
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate amount of weight

Qualifications

• Previous general hotel maintenance experience preferred
