Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms and elevator problems.
• Repair minor plumbing problems and unblock drains.
• Repair beds and other mechanical equipment.
• Replace light bulbs and batteries as needed.
• Repair and paint doors, walls and ceilings.
• Assess maintenance problems and determine when additional assistance or direction from the supervisor is necessary.
• Attend to routine heating and air conditioning problems throughout the hospital.
• Perform preventative maintenance on hospital facilities equipment.
• Complete the installation of wall hung boards and assemble minor equipment within a timely manner.
• On second shift - Answer Engineering department telephones and respond to repair calls.

Requirements

• A High School diploma and a minimum of one year’s job-related experience or equivalent is required.
