Responsibilities

  • Observes and promotes safe work practices and procedures.
  • Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Facility Services Department.
  • Assists in maintaining HVAC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas.
  • Performs urgent, corrective, routine, and requisitioned repairs of minor problems with the electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems as required.
  • Notifies lead engineer if major repairs are required.
  • Performs maintenance on equipment and systems as required.
  • Assists in maintaining electrical wiring and emergency generator systems.
  • Inspects and tests equipment/systems.
  • Performs preventive maintenance duties to all physical structures of facility and complies with all building safety codes.
  • Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system.
  • Performs manual duties as requested (i.e., moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trash or scrap material).
  • Reads blueprints, interprets instructions, and prepares specifications.
  • Ability to do work on his/her own with only normal supervision.
  • Ability to work well on his/her own and to inspect facilities and equipment.
  • A working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems.
  • A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain plant tools and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years college or technical school; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years’ experience in this Plant Operations environment. Must be proficient in three or more POM trades (Team Lead, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, central plant operations, refrigeration, carpentry, electronics, make ready, catered living, wastewater treatment, grounds/landscaping, painting, automotive, SST, Roving Team, Master Licensed, etc.).
  • Must successfully pass criminal background check.
  • Must complete and/or take all required health screenings and vaccines.
