General Maintainer - NY & NJ Locations

Responsibilities

• Perform work requiring knowledge of carpentry, landscaping, painting, paving, roofing, snow removal, gardening, structural and mechanical maintenance.
• Work a 40-hour week, including rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, during inclement weather, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two (2) years of journey-level work experience in building construction or general laborer fields.
• Valid driver license with the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B permit before the first day of work.

Desired Qualifications

• Ability to work rotating shifts and during inclement weather conditions.

Selection Process

• Assessed via a written exam and a practical exam.
• The written exam measures knowledge in Building Construction and Maintenance trades areas such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, drywall, and masonry.
• The practical exam includes tasks like climbing a ladder, constructing piping projects, building wood frames, measuring, cutting, hanging, taping, and painting walls.

Pay & Benefits

• Starting salary: $24.58/hourly.
• This is a temporary position offering health benefits but no paid-time off benefits.
• Temporary General Maintainers have the potential to convert to permanent status based on availability of openings and performance.
