About the Opportunity

A well-established Virginia law firm is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney to join its litigation practice in Fairfax. This is an opportunity for an attorney with 1-4 years of litigation experience who enjoys taking an active role in defending clients and wants to continue developing their skills in a substantive litigation environment. The practice handles a variety of insurance defense, general liability, and civil litigation matters, providing attorneys with the opportunity to work on meaningful cases and gain valuable courtroom experience.

Responsibilities

• Defend clients in a variety of civil litigation matters
• Manage cases through different stages of litigation
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
• Communicate with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, and other parties
• Develop litigation strategies and work toward favorable resolutions
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys and support staff

Requirements

• 1-4 years of experience practicing law
• Virginia Bar admission in good standing
• Experience in insurance defense, general liability, civil litigation, or a related practice area
• Prior trial experience strongly preferred
• Strong writing, research, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
• Someone who genuinely enjoys litigation and wants to continue developing as a trial attorney
