Responsibilities
- Manages the general ledger accounting functions to ensure efficient, timely and accurate financial statements and tax returns.
- Manages the monthly financial close process including journal entries, variance analysis, communication with departments and accruals.
- Manages the weekly, monthly and annual IRGC reports as assigned.
- Oversees the cash ledger function that prepares weekly, monthly and annual cash flows for the corporation.
- Authorized to transmit cash transactions at the bank to complete the timely processing of cash transactions.
- Directs, coaches, guides and instructs staff in proper performance of duties.
- Presents regular performance appraisals of staff.
- Provides specific direction to accounting staff on the day-to-day performances of their jobs.
- Reviews financial statements for accuracy and clarity and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Requirements
- Four-year accounting degree with three years general ledger or accounting/financial experience.
- Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficient with calculator and computer.
- Advanced Excel skills, working knowledge of Word and Power Point a plus.
- Excellent problem solving, supervisory skills and a working knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
- An ability to establish and maintain a good working relationship within and outside the department and be able to explain accounting to non-accountants.
- An ability to analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
- An upbeat and positive attitude.
- The ability to adapt to changing work environment.
- The ability to communicate and interact verbally and in writing with people of diverse backgrounds.
Shift: 8am-430pm
Days Off: Saturday/Sunday
Wage based on experience.
