It owns and operates Golden Nugget Hotels and Casinos in Las Vegas, Laughlin, Atlantic City, and Biloxi, as well as over 420 restaurants across 35 states and 15 countries under brands like Rainforest Cafe, Saltgrass Steakhouse, Landry’s Seafood House, Morton’s – The Steakhouse, and Vic & Anthony’s. The company also operates hotels, aquariums, the Kemah Boardwalk, and the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier.
Responsibilities
The General Ledger Accountant provides financial information to the organization by maintaining and reconciling accounts.
- Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Golden Nugget and departmental policies and procedures.
- Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees.
- Prepare general ledger journal entries, ensuring proper coding, appropriate accruals, and month-end close.
- Provide financial and operational analysis services for operations and internal departments.
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Assist with month-end, quarterly, and annual closings.
- Stay abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, and employees as appropriate.
- Promote positive public/employee relations at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
- Safeguard the confidential information of all employee, department, and company records.
- Demonstrate a commitment to responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying management of concerns.
- Ensure prompt and discrete notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to deliver a service level that creates a positive, memorable guest experience.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP (required).
- Working knowledge and proficiency with general ledger-based computerized accounting systems.
- Advanced Excel skills required; Access skills preferred.
