General Laundry Worker

Essential Responsibilities

• Soiled Linen Sorting: Sort soiled linen received from accounts. Separate linen by type category and accurately and consistently move it into designated sorting bins using conveyor belts. Observe and practice all personal protective practices as required - PPE. Meet and maintain established production standards as required.
• Mixed Soil Linen Separation: Maintain a clean work area before breaks and at the end of the shift. Remove all non-linen items and place them in the designated location. Move soiled linen carts into the cart dumper and empty soiled linen onto a conveyor belt for sorting and separation into the system. Separate non-linen items and trash before placing them on the inclined belt. Keep trash and recyclable plastics separate and put them in the appropriate compactor. Meet and maintain established production standards as required. Empty soiled carts at a rate of 25 per hour with two operators.
• Dry Folding Linen: Feed, catch, and stack linen items needing folding through high-production industrial laundry equipment. Meet and maintain established production standards as required. Separate miss-sorted linen items before processing them into designated containers. Maintain a clean work area before breaks and at the end of the shift. Remove all non-linen items and place them in a designated location. All other duties as assigned.
• Flatwork Linen Processing: Feed, catch, or stack linen items needing ironing through high-production industrial laundry equipment. Meet and maintain established production standards as required. Separate miss-sorted linen items before processing them into designated containers. Maintain a clean work area before breaks and at the end of the shift. Remove all non-linen items and place them in a designated location. All other duties as assigned.
