General Laborer (Saw/Seal Division)

Swank Construction Company, LLC is seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a General Laborer for our Saw/Seal division.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical labor activities which includes, but is not limited to, lifting, pulling, pushing, and/or carrying different types of objects/materials.
• Perform tasks which may include concrete cutting, joint taping/backer rodding, joint rehab, and crack sealing highways, runways, and parking lots.
• Use or learn how to use different hand and power tools.
• Ensure the practice of safety standards in accordance with company policies and OSHA.
• Demonstrate dependability, reliability, punctuality, and self-motivation.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• 18 years of age or older
• Must be available to work varied shifts (days, nights, weekends)
• Must be in a union or willing to join a union
• Willingness to travel for extended periods of time
• Mechanical aptitude
• Willing and able to obtain and maintain a Swank Driver File, including a PennDOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Medical Card)
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, MVR check, and background check

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Frequently exposed to risk of accident and/or unpleasant elements (e.g., extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises, heights, uneven work surfaces, and hazardous substances).
• Required to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy items and materials.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and crawl for extended periods or when needed.
• Ability to effectively communicate in, and understand, English.
• Required to utilize personal protective equipment (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses & boots) at appropriate times.
