General Laborer

Description

The General Laborer position at Smurfit WestRock's Lithia Springs facility is dedicated to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Key responsibilities include:

• Inspecting rolls and completing quality checks
• Maintaining good housekeeping within the work area
• Aiding in reducing plant waste through web monitoring and corrections
• Performing pre-make ready, make ready, setups, and secondary activities
• Inspecting printing decks for quality and productivity
• Staging cutdown roll stock and cylinders for upcoming jobs
• Data entry into Kiwi system and print tickets
• Operating Zamboni, forklift, and clamp trucks
• Participating in safety activities and providing feedback for continuous improvement
• Cleaning plates and inspecting aniloxes
• Assisting with mounting and troubleshooting mounting machines
• Completing daily inspections of equipment

Requirements

• Experience operating P.I.T. and overhead cranes
• The ability to work independently or within a team environment
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days and nights
• Good attendance and willingness to cover other shifts as needed
• Ability to interpret instructions and perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
