General Laborer

SES Civil and Environmental LLC, a subsidiary of Bristol Bay Construction Holdings LLC (BBCH), is seeking a Laborer to play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and efficient construction site in Port Saint Joe, FL.

Responsibilities

• Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and ready for construction activities by removing debris, hazards, and obstacles.
• Handle tools, raw materials, and equipment.
• Load and unload items as needed for construction tasks.
• Perform manual labor including digging trenches, filling pits, compacting soil, and backfilling excavated areas.
• Operate construction off-road vehicles while following safety protocols.
• Take direction from supervisors and follow construction plans.
• Assist heavy equipment operators and other skilled workers.
• Assist in creating a positive and safe work environment.
• Complete assigned training in a timely fashion.
• Be coachable and learn from team members.

Requirements

• Willingness to learn from more experienced craft to become more proficient and knowledgeable.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license a plus.
• Demonstrate the ability to finish tasks safely, accurately, and promptly.
• Knowledge of standard hand and power tools and how to use them safely and correctly.
• Basic construction experience.
• Ability to solve problems.
• Basic carpentry skills.
• Able to relay and receive information from field management needed for the current project/task.
• Strong work ethic.
• Good attitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Demonstrate the ability to stay on task efficiently, safely, and flexibly.

Additional Requirements

• Pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results.
• If applicable to the contract, obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to access military installations.

Physical Requirements

• Must maintain a constant state of mental alertness and situational awareness.
• Physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and lift, handle, or move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Frequent opportunity to move about and work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to elements (extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.).
• Walk over rough and uneven surfaces.
• Routine lifting of up to 35 pounds.
• Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust vision.

Working Conditions

• Job is performed in outdoor settings with exposure to all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
• May encounter wildlife.
