General Laborer

About the role

This position is based in Fargo, North Dakota.

Responsibilities

  • Operates excavation equipment (e.g.; jackhammer, tamper, etc.) to perform trench digging for electrical project work.
  • Performs concrete work as needed.
  • Reports vehicle, tool, and equipment maintenance requirements to the construction manager.
  • Performs routine maintenance on vehicles as directed by the project superintendent.
  • Asks questions as needed to ensure a clear understanding of expected work results and priority needs.
  • Accepts feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Attends and actively participates in weekly toolbox safety meetings.
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with customers, foremen, project teams, specialty contractors, vendors, suppliers, user groups and others that reflect and support theCompany’s core values and meet or exceed the customer’s expectations.
  • Consistently makes decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of self and others.
  • Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
  • Promotes and models the Company mission, vision and values through exercising sound and ethical business practices, championing all elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and providing high quality services and programs as they relate to clients, subcontractors, co-workers, suppliers, and the public.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 0-1 year of industry experience performing work in the field setting.
  • Holds a valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record.
  • Must be able to obtain a department of transportation (DOT) medical card.
  • Must be able to travel in a specified work region with occasional overnight stays expected.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work as a team with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Open to learning new skills and willingly accepts feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Dedicated team player with strong customer service orientation.
  • Class A commercial driver’s license preferred.
