General Labor – Summer Help (Temporary)

Job Summary

This is a temporary summer position designed to support plant operations during peak vacation season in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Summer Help employees provide general production support across departments and gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter

• Provide safe and efficient production support, which may include: hand-stacking, case packing, housekeeping, product conveying and reclaim.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in detail without deviation.
• Set up packaging coders and validate product codes in accordance with specifications.
• Identify and communicate out-of-specification product conditions and follow notification protocols.
• Perform routine equipment adjustments using hand tools.
• Safely operate a lift truck to move materials as needed (if trained/certified).
• Complete production records accurately and neatly.
• Assist with equipment changeovers, sanitation (CIP/SIP), clean-up, and setup.
• Perform product packaging, stacking, reclaim, and rework operations.
• Support internal and external audits and comply with all GMP and food safety requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and a safe work environment.
• Work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be currently enrolled in college or a vocational/technical program (proof may be required)
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Strong attendance and reliability required
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a fast-paced environment

Physical Demands

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment including noise, temperature changes (hot, cold, wet, humid), and around moving equipment
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe chemical handling procedures

• This is a temporary summer position with expected employment during the summer months only
• Hours may vary based on production needs, including potential overtime or weekends
• This position does not guarantee permanent employment
