About the role
Performing a variety of tasks to facilitate operation of the hatchery.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning incubators, counting eggs/chicks, separating/culling chicks, assisting vaccinators, loading/unloading eggs, and keeping work areas clean/organized
- Adheres to all safety requirements, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures, and Process Safety Management-related matters
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment
- Participates in Company and department safety programs
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to work with others in a close environment
- Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work quickly and multitask
Physical Requirements
- Exposed to temperatures up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity up to 100%
- Exposed to chemicals and vaccines to be covered in MSDS training and hazardous communications
- Use of personal protective equipment as required
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. to a height of 6 feet, to push 75 lbs. a distance of 75 feet and lift 20–25 lbs. to a height of 3 feet
- Must be able to work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment
- Must be able to use a broom, shovel, mop, and scrub brushes
- Work with chemicals to effectively wash and disinfect equipment/work area
- Frequent stooping and kneeling
