General Interest - Experienced Investment Banker - Columbus or Cleveland

About the role

Copper Run is a different kind of investment bank focused exclusively on middle market transactions, providing buy-side and sell-side M&A advisory on deals between $10M and $50M. Headquartered in the Midwest, we deliver Wall Street execution while maintaining solid Midwestern values. Our clients include top-tier private equity firms, sponsor-backed companies, and middle market businesses. As we continue to grow, we seek bankers who can immediately contribute to our excess deal flow and support our business development efforts.

Responsibilities

• Source deals by originating leads, marketing the firm to potential clients, and managing engagement letter negotiations
• Market deals through strong communication skills and proactive outreach to potential counterparties
• Complete transactions by compiling marketing materials, structuring deals, and successfully negotiating through roadblocks
• Lead multiple day-to-day client relationships with CEOs and business owners over extended periods and multiple engagements
• Market transactions to private equity firms, strategic buyers, and other parties (existing relationships are a plus but not required)

Qualifications

• Experience in investment banking, commercial banking, corporate finance, or a related field
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, personable demeanor, and enthusiasm for networking
• Ability to have fun while maintaining professionalism
• FINRA Series 79, 7, and 63 licenses are a plus but not mandatory to start
