General Grounds Technician

About the role
This position performs a variety of basic grounds maintenance work, including:
- Lawn and athletic field care
- Construction and repair of grounds and grounds facilities
- Planting, transplanting, pruning, fertilizing, and spraying pesticides to control weeds, insects, and other pests
- Concrete mixing and installation
- Asphalt repair and installation
- Drainage system maintenance and installation
- Playground repair and construction
- Operation of a wide variety of equipment and vehicles as necessary to perform job duties
Schedule
8 hours a day; 260-day calendar. Employees have reasonable assurance of continued employment to the following school year. However, an employee's total work hours, work locations, and designated beginning and ending times may vary.
Pay
Hourly rate: $41.45 to $41.95 (2026-2027 Maintenance Trades Employee Salary Schedule).
Requirements
Must possess and maintain the following:
- An acceptable driving record based on an approved driver's abstract (or Motor Vehicle Record)
- Driver's license verification and validation
Must possess and maintain or be willing to obtain the following within 6 months of hire:
- CPR and First Aid Certifications
- Fork Lift with Aerial and Boom Truck License
- Pesticide License with Herbicidal, Insecticidal, Aquatic, and Right of Way Endorsements
