HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding Division is the largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi and a major contributor to the economic growth of Alabama. For nearly 85 years, we’ve designed, built, and maintained amphibious ships, destroyers, and cutters for the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard. About the role

Supervises, assigns, coordinates, and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience, and job knowledge. Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees and assists in the development of training procedures. Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans.

Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job, including adherence to all drawings and procedures. Oversees manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance. Supervises qualified trades staff, monitoring job and budget performance across all shifts. Additional management responsibilities as outlined in Shipbuilding Management Charter 0001 (SBMC 0001).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel.

• Ensure compliance with all technical job aspects, including drawings and procedures.
• Oversee manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations.
• Monitor job and budget performance for all shifts.
• Adhere to management responsibilities per Shipbuilding Management Charter 0001.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 years of production experience, with at least 2 years in production supervisory experience.
• Apprentice Graduate or AA Degree with at least 2 years of production supervisory experience.
• Willingness and ability to work any assigned shift.
