General Foreman I - MIDWEST

About the Role

We are seeking a General Foreman I to supervise and coordinate the activities of construction crews, ensuring the safe and efficient completion of steel erection and installation projects. This role is ideal for individuals with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in construction supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead construction crews, including ironworkers, welders, and equipment operators, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety protocols.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to crew members, monitor work progress, and provide guidance to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors.
• Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and inspections to identify and address potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Perform quality inspections of work to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Identify and address deficiencies or non-conformities in workmanship, materials, or equipment, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate the delivery and storage of materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability and readiness for use.
• Monitor equipment usage and maintenance schedules, and coordinate repairs or replacements to minimize downtime and ensure productivity.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for communication between project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and construction crews.
• Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to plan and schedule work activities, resolve issues, and ensure project milestones are met.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work progress, manpower, equipment usage, and safety incidents.
• Prepare and submit daily reports, progress updates, and other documentation as required by project specifications or company procedures.
