General Facilities Maintenance Specialist II
Job Summary
Coordinates standard maintenance of facilities, exteriors, and grounds. Facilitates the maintenance of buildings and equipment through the application of facilities management practices, services, and schedules and by conducting repairs of facilities and amenities. Complies with standard protocols for the disposal of materials including general waste, regulated/hazardous materials, or other applicable contents, and maintains appropriate licensure or permits for relevant regulatory parties. Maintains safety through the inspection of and preparation for drills and facilities operations. Analyzes metrics to ensure that budgets are met and improved upon in projects across the facilities management and that timelines of projects are maintained. Conducts standard space and occupancy planning. Supports collaboration with technical support teams to provide technical support for relevant technologies within the facilities.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Public Health, Engineering, Public Administration, Health Care Administration, Engineering, Construction, Industrial Hygiene, or related field OR
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in facility maintenance/management or a directly related field.
- Maintains buildings and campus grounds by:
- Coinciding standard landscaping services with vendors to maintain the upkeep of grounds and public sidewalks within a specified area;
- Coinciding with landscape services to ensure service-level requirements are met.
- Supports compliance efforts by:
- Following standard protocols and regulations according to Title 22, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to ensure the disposal of pharmaceutical, and hazardous waste (e.g., solid waste, biohazardous) materials is completed accurately;
- Applying broad guidelines to ensure required licenses and operating permits are maintained across the team in accordance with local, state, and federal regulation.
- Maintains safety, inspection, and emergency preparation by:
- Coinciding drills according to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Life Safety Code, and other regulations that may apply, with local authorities and completing reports based on drill outcomes;
- Coinciding with standard, planned inspection tours to ensure the efficient and uninterrupted operation of the facility.
- Supports facility improvement and budget management by:
- Monitoring and flagging costs associated with operating program budget for improvement projects;
- Completing tasks related to facility, renovation, and operational programs so that buildings are maintained in a safe and operationally effective condition;
- Resolving maintenance projects such as designing, remodeling, renovating, and equipping facilities with capabilities to reduce costs and improve service;
- Analyzing established metrics related to the work and timeliness of maintenance projects and track the project status.
- Contributes to technical support by:
- Providing site and operational knowledge to support standard issues (e.g., infrastructure equipment, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning [HVAC] equipment and facilities, video conferencing equipment, telephone, and network installation) in partnership with technical teams for network problems;
- Oversight of the testing of newly installed machines and equipment to ensure contracting specifications are fulfilled.
- Supports vendor and contract management by:
- Coinciding team members to develop specifications, review products and invoices, obtain bids, and collect details to evaluate the performance of services;
- Working with organizational contacts to clarify business needs, develop services/project outcomes, and identify vendor services related to operations and other essential services;
- Independently tracking vendor performance for one or more contracts using specific, core metrics to ensure adherence to contractual provisions, regulatory specifications, and compliance with the organizations policy.
- Driver's License (California) required at hire.
- One (1) year of experience in project management.
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or equivalent certification.
