About the role
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Full-time General Engineer (NH-0830-03) to work for Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position provides effective design and support to multiple customers and organizations to accomplish mission requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to multiple customers and organizations to ensure efficient administrative, financial, and technical aspects of the assigned program.
- Ensure energy savings, resiliency, and critical missions for the Air Force are supported through complex utility systems.
- Serve as a fully competent journeyman level Energy Project Manager for one of the largest AF bases in the world and one of the largest energy programs in DoD.
- Manage projects affecting all missions on base, ensuring resiliency and energy programs address all command and Air Force initiatives.
- Develop and maintain an energy program to meet current and future AFSC/AFMC/Air Force goals and objectives.
- Review submittals and components from large contractors to meet base-wide reductions independently and with little to no oversight.
- Orchestrates planning, design, cost estimating, and phased scheduling of assigned projects, coordinating with various civil engineering functions and organizations.
- Communicate with Army Corps of Engineers, energy privatization companies, utility providers, or other design agencies as required.
- Maintain current civil engineering data for assigned projects.
Requirements
- Obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- May be required to travel for temporary duty.
- May have extended/other than normal duty hours.
- A professional engineering degree at bachelor’s level from an ABET accredited institution in engineering or a closely related field is required.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license is desired but not required.
- Knowledge of a broad range of energy and engineering/construction standards, methods, practices, and techniques.
- Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usage.
- Ability to plan complex solutions, coordinate with higher leadership, and conduct site/facility surveys and inspections.
- Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and maintain good working relations.
Qualifications
- Full-time commitment required.
- One year probationary/trial period upon completion of selection.
Skills
- Fully competent journeyman experienced in a broad range of engineering and energy programs.
- Knowledge of energy and engineering/construction standards, methods, practices, and techniques.
- Ability to plan complex solutions and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Commensurate with experience.
Pay
$89,508 - $138,370 yearly w/ locality
