General Education Teacher

About the role

Located on a beautiful 10-acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale, Devereux Arizona’s 24-hour RTC and Therapeutic School, has the capacity to serve 52 children. The campus is a safe and supportive environment that supports youth, ages 5 to 17, who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or substance abuse challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans and proficiently deliver curriculum using available digital teaching methods educational model that is aligned with state standards.
• Assess student performance objectives on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
• Align content within the Arizona State Standards and Common Core Standards, as well as collaborate with teaching colleagues to plan, facilitate, and teach highly effective literacy instruction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.
• AZ General Education Certification (or AZ Elementary and/or Secondary Teacher Certification, or K-12 General Education Certification).
• Understanding of learning theories related to working with multiple handicapped individuals.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards).
• Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check.
• Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable).
• Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results.

Skills

Ability to attend full time, paid, New Hire Orientation for two weeks Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm.
