Pima Medical Institute is seeking a passionate General Education Instructor to deliver core general education courses that equip aspiring healthcare professionals with essential academic, scientific, and communication skills. Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery & Classroom Management

• Deliver engaging lectures and coursework across foundational subjects (e.g., Algebra/Math Applications, Anatomy & Physiology, Communications, Intro to Psychology, Medical Terminology, and Medical Law & Ethics).
• Design and adapt instructional methods to accommodate diverse adult learning styles and foster an inclusive classroom setting.
• Partner with Academic Program Directors to review course materials, enhance instructional quality, and ensure institutional alignment.

Student Success & Academic Support

• Provide targeted academic support and early interventions to help students maintain an 80%+ success rate.
• Identify and refer students with course averages below 77% for additional campus tutoring and academic advising.
• Monitor daily attendance, maintaining proactive communication with Student Services regarding consecutive student absences.
• Grade student assignments promptly, submit official final grades, and maintain accurate, compliant academic records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Biological Sciences, Communications, Psychology) from an accredited institution recognized by USDE or CHEA.
• Demonstrated proficiency and subject knowledge in the specific general education content areas taught.
• Valid teaching credential (Secondary or Adult Education) preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Pay

Hiring range: $28.19 to $35.23 per hour.
