Harrisonburg SmileMakers is seeking a passionate and driven General Dentist to lead a practice with clinical autonomy while being supported by Heartland Dental, the nation’s largest Dental Support Organization. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a high‑performing 12‑person team, utilize cutting‑edge technology, and create exceptional patient experiences in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Lead the practice with full clinical autonomy, making decisions that best serve patients.
• Collaborate daily with a 12‑person team to deliver exceptional patient care and maintain a supportive, communicative work culture.
• Utilize state‑of‑the‑art tools such as an iTero Scanner, WaveOne Gold, and VideaHealth AI to provide advanced, efficient dental care.
• Participate in periodic virtual or in‑person training sessions throughout the year to stay at the forefront of industry advancements.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and protect patient health information in daily operations.

Requirements

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
• Active, unrestricted Virginia dental license.
• Passion for delivering comprehensive, patient‑centered care and building trust.
• Strong desire for continuous learning and clinical skill expansion.
• Willingness to become credentialed with various dental insurance plans.
• Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation, including prolonged sitting and standing.
• Physical stamina to lift and carry up to 45 lb as needed.
• Availability for virtual or in‑person training throughout the year.
• Completion of a pre‑employment tuberculosis (TB) test (exempt in FL & TN).
