General Dentist

About the role

The Muskogee Veterans Affairs is recruiting for a General Dentist to provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting to an adult patient population with a high percentage of acute and chronic medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity
• Diagnose pathological or irregular oral conditions
• Administer local anesthesia
• Perform routine and complex restorations of teeth
• Perform simple and complex extractions of teeth
• Perform alveoplasty and other routine surgical procedures
• Perform prosthetic dentistry to include immediate dentures, full dentures, partial dentures, crowns, and fixed bridgework
• Perform routine endodontic procedures on single and multi-canal teeth
• Perform routine and surgical periodontal procedures
• Provide collaboration with dental staff assigned to the clinic location
• Responsible for clinic administration in compliance with VHA Medical Center and Dental Service Directives, Policies, and Procedures
• Assist supervisor in everyday activities and requirements of the dental service
• Have the ability to use Vista Applications when appropriate

Requirements

Must be a licensed dentist with appropriate VHA privileges to practice as an independent practitioner.

Benefits

Eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), which provides student loan repayment assistance up to $200,000 over one to five years, subject to VHA eligibility requirements and application within four months of appointment. Schedule

Monday‑Friday, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm with a regular day off on Tuesday.
