About the Organization

Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a nonprofit health care organization whose mission is to provide exceptional health care to people facing access barriers through clinical programs and education. We provide integrated health care services including medical, dental, and behavioral health through our 20 outpatient health centers. Our organization has over 800 employees and serves more than 74,300 patients annually in the Pikes Peak and East Central regions of Colorado, covering 14 counties from the front range to the Kansas border. Locations include Colorado Springs, Fountain, Divide, Limon, and Strasburg. Peak Vista is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).

Purpose

To uphold Peak Vista Community Health Center’s mission by providing the highest level of dental practice and high-quality, culturally appropriate, prevention-focused dental care. Serves as a leader on the dental team, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the team, site, and organization.

Responsibilities

• Provides care in the following disciplines of general dental practice: diagnosis, preventative dentistry, operative dentistry, pedodontics, periodontics, removable prosthodontics, endodontics, fixed prosthodontics, oral surgery, and orthodontics.
• Conducts case presentations.
• Expands skills commensurate with clinical capabilities and continuing education.
• Supports and teaches team members at the site, as well as students enrolled in relevant health-profession training programs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of general dental practice, including accepted and evidence-based treatment methodologies and risk-based care practices.
• Ensures optimal access to care through clinical productivity and addressing patient barriers to care.
• Engages effectively with non-dental team members to support overall integration of Peak Vista systems, particularly between medical, behavioral health, and dental clinical teams.
• Effectively uses electronic dental and health records (EDR, EHR), registries, and templates.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Graduation from an approved School of Dentistry.
• Possession of a current license to practice dentistry in the State of Colorado.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to diagnose and treat dental and oral disease.
• Working knowledge of the principles, standard practices, methods, and techniques of dentistry.
• Knowledge of preventative dentistry, risk-based care, and educational/communication methodologies utilized in prevention.
• Skill in oral operative techniques and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff.
• Ability to work in a team-based care environment.
• Understanding and application of practices and principles of quality improvement (QI) preferred.
• Sensitivity to low-income and ethnic minority communities.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Pay

$160,000 to $202,395 annually, based on experience. Other compensation may include signing bonuses, rural differentials, and relocation reimbursement.
