A highly successful, expanding, global retailer opening new stores across the US. An exciting opportunity to join a growing business as they expand their US footprint across multiple locations and states.

General Counsel Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and guidance to the company and senior leadership team on a wide range of business and compliance legal matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, leases, and other legal documents to protect the company's interests.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in the retail industry.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel as needed.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate legal risks.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiations.
• Oversee corporate governance and ensure proper legal documentation.
• Provide training and support to staff on legal matters and company policies.

Profile

The successful General Counsel should have demonstrable experience in:

• Juris Doctor and US state bar in good standing.
• Strong preference for experience in the retail industry or a similar sector encompassing leasing work, construction/store fit-out contracts, employment matters for workforce across multiple states.
• Strong knowledge of corporate, compliance, and contract law.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal advice to leadership teams.

Job Offer

• Competitive salary range: c. $170,000 - $175,000 per year (depending on relevant experience).
