General Cleaning Supervisor
About the role
A General Cleaning Supervisor is an employee assigned to oversee work activities of janitorial personnel in commercial and industrial establishments, assign daily duties, inspect work and perform janitorial services.
Responsibilities
- Performs duties at the direction of the Contract Manager
- Daily verbal and/or written communication with subordinates, vendor, and management
- Regularly checks email correspondence to ensure
- Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees
- Makes rounds to check for crew coverage of designated work areas
- Sets needed coverage
- Gives special cleaning instructions and/or assignments
- Ascertains compliance with directives
- Conducts inspections and investigates tenant complaints of the building to check for cleanliness
- Advises employees of found conditions and methods of correction
- Inspects equipment for cleanliness and repair and personally makes minor repairs
Requirements
- Must pass background check
- Ability to build relationships with both the client and employees
- Ability to stay on task while working independently
- Ability to manage people, previous management/leadership experience preferred
- Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, and supplies used in large-scale janitorial activities of the service
