ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• High Dusting: Using a treated high duster, clean surfaces above shoulder height in a counter-clockwise direction.
• Sanitizing/Spot Cleaning: Use a germicidal solution to clean surfaces below shoulder height, including ledges, chairs, telephones, countertops, and trashcans.
• Bathroom Cleaning: Apply germicidal solution to wipe down surfaces in the following order: above and below sink, toilet seat, and outside of toilet bowl. Clean the inside of the toilet with a Johnnie Mop and solution, paying attention to the rim. Check and refill soap and paper dispensers daily.
• Floor Dusting/Vacuuming: Dust mop using an "S" stroke, then sweep up dust. Vacuum starting at the back of the room and working towards the door, ensuring to get under chairs and other furniture.
• Grounds Care: Clean and check outside areas, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, and curb lines. Spot clean spills, remove gum, and clean vending machines and benches. Clean public area glass and planters regularly.
• Food Court: Clean tables, sanitize them, and empty/trash cans. Stack clean trays for recycling. Police outside eating areas.
• Floor Sanitizing: Use a germicidal solution to sanitize the floor, mopping under furniture and behind doors as you back out of the room.
• Customer Relations and Service: Knock lightly on doors before entering, be friendly and answer questions in a helpful manner. Report any broken or out-of-order items to your supervisor. Maintain a clean and neat appearance.
• Other Duties: Perform tasks such as floor care, carpet extraction, and floor waxing as directed by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to operate and interpret instructions for cleaning chemicals.
• Physical ability to perform assigned duties, including walking, standing, sitting, lifting/carrying, operating equipment, and reaching.
